I’m so stupidly excited for Warlords of Draenor all of a sudden, I just saw the new login screen and I’m so excited that it’s going to be the Dark Portal again and I just love it, it’s so great. I really feel like this expansion is sort of reeling in WoW’s ridiculously huge story some, and I’m glad about that, I feel like it’s going to be part of the main story of WoW again rather than some side story. Not that I didn’t love MoP.
So wait, what is Shadow of Mordor? I saw the ad for it last night, I’m interested. Are you just free to explore Middle Earth or are you confined to Mordor? Do you get to do anything other than slaughter orcs? I was saying not long ago how much I’d like an open-world Skyrim-like LotR game so when I saw this it seemed like a dream come true but I’m afraid it’s going to not be what I want it to be.
Something everybody who plays WoW has seen at one point or another is a player complaining that “WoW’s horses don’t run like real horses!” It’s just inevitable, someone is going to make that complaint. I haven’t spent a lot of time around horses, but given the way WoW horses run, I can only assume that real horses run on two legs by kicking backward.
Positives of LotRO:
- Awesome community
- Reminds me of classic WoW
- No stupid faction system
- Lets you explore Middle Earth freely
- Minstrel class
- Beautiful scenery
Negatives of LotRO:
- Inevitable microtransactions
- Have to download a patch every time I log on
